Saraye Ameriha is one of the most valuable traditional houses among Kashan’s famous historical houses. It is located in the “Soltan mir Ahmad” area on Alavi Street near Kamal-al-Molk Square. The ancient beginnings of this building site possibly go back before the era of Genghis Khan. Historical documents also show a connection to the Zandiyeh dynasty in the 1700’s, and rebuilding during the Qajar era (1794 – 1925) by the Qajar majesty, Ibrahim-Khalil Khan.
Saraye Ameriha is overflowing with beautiful traditional spaces that are now renovated and ready to be used once again. Following classic Persian design, there is a Hasht-ty traditional foyer, two separate interior yards featuring ponds, famous Kashani roses and Pomegranate trees, summer & winter terraces as well as Houz-khane, a sitting room with a shallow pool. The magnificent Mirror Hall dining room, Sard-Ab, a cozy amphitheater built partially underground, Bahar-Band, a rooftop area for sleeping in the hot, desert summer nights, and two traditional Badghir wind catchers add to the experience of authentic ancient Persia. Every corner of Saraye Ameriha has a story to tell – from the hand-painted archways and tile mosaics, to the custom wood furniture inscribed with Persian poetry, all the décor is authentic and locally sourced.
